Stepping into ITB Berlin 2025, we knew it would be special - but the scale, energy, and excitement exceeded expectations. As one of the world’s largest travel trade shows, ITB Berlin brought together a truly global audience of over 100,000 visitors and 5,800 exhibitors from more than 170 countries. For moonstride, this was more than an exhibition - it was an opportunity to share ideas, connect with peers, and explore the trends shaping the future of travel businesses.

A Global Stage for Travel Innovation

From the moment the doors opened, the atmosphere was full of energy. At the moonstride stand, we welcomed travel professionals eager to explore travel technology solutions that could help them work more efficiently and adapt to a rapidly evolving industry.

Many of the conversations centred around streamlining operations, reducing manual tasks, and improving customer experiences – challenges shared by many across the travel sector. We spoke with travel agencies, tour operators, and destination management companies (DMCs) about how the right tools could support their goals.

Live demonstrations at the stand focused on practical, solution-driven features designed to meet these needs:

  • Itinerary Management – Easily create and customise travel plans
  • Customer Management – Keep all customer information in one place to build better relationships
  • Booking Solutions – Simplified and efficient booking processes
  • Analytics – Use data to make better business decisions
  • Payment Integration – Secure and flexible payment processing
  • Supplier Management – Streamlined handling of supplier networks and contracts
  • Quotation Builder – Quickly generate accurate and professional quotes
  • Email Centralisation – Centralise communications for easier management
  • Contract Loading – Upload and organise contracts for easy access
  • Group Tour Management – Efficiently handle group bookings and schedules
  • Task Automation & Management – Automate tasks and streamline workflows
  • Enquiry Management – Manage customer enquiries quickly and efficiently

From the start, it was clear that the focus wasn’t just on technology for technology’s sake — but on practical solutions that help travel businesses work smarter, respond faster, and deliver better experiences.

Meaningful Conversations and Shared Challenges

As the event continued, so did the conversations – each one different, yet with familiar threads. Sustainability, personalisation, and digital transformation were themes echoed in discussions across the exhibition halls.

We explored how digital tools can support more sustainable practices – from paperless operations and efficient workflows to smarter resource use. Attendees were also curious about how data and automation could be used to deliver more personalised customer experiences, without adding complexity for teams.

Another recurring theme was integration. Many businesses were looking for platforms that worked with existing systems, reduced friction, and enabled their teams to perform their day-to-day roles more efficiently, rather than complicating them.

Tailored Solutions for Different Needs

Throughout the event, we spoke with businesses of all sizes — each with specific needs shaped by their focus, operations, and audience. A one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t meet the varied demands of the travel industry. Instead, flexibility, adaptability, and modular tools are increasingly seen as essential.

Here’s how we tailored solutions for different travel business segments:

  • Travel Agencies – Simplified booking management, better tools for customer relationships, and ways to connect with customers across many channels
  • Tour Operators – Full-service itinerary planning, automatic quotes, and faster connections with suppliers
  • Destination Management Companies (DMCs) – Advanced supplier integrations, multi-currency support, and customised reporting to optimise operations
  • Tourism Boards (DMOs) – Tailored website design, centralised content management, CRM integration, and seamless booking to enhance destination promotion and visitor experiences
  • Group Travel – Streamlined bookings, automated quotes, tailored packages, and seamless payment integration for group travel organisers and travellers
  • Corporate Travel – Centralised booking, automated workflows, seamless supplier management, and detailed reporting for corporate travel efficiency

The depth and diversity of these conversations highlighted a shared need: technology that adapts to different business models while remaining easy to use and manage.

Beyond the Stand – Connections and Reflections

Networking played a key role in our experience at ITB Berlin 2025. We reconnected with existing clients, formed new relationships, and engaged with industry leaders from across the travel landscape. These conversations weren’t just about products – they focused on shared challenges, evolving goals, and opportunities for collaboration.

It was also a chance to hear what others are working on – from emerging tech innovations to fresh approaches in customer engagement and sustainable travel. These exchanges sparked ideas and reinforced the value of staying adaptable in a fast-moving industry.

As the event came to a close, we took a moment to reflect. ITB Berlin 2025 was more than a showcase – it was a space to learn, share, and grow. The insights we gained and the connections we made will continue to shape how we move forward. The travel industry is evolving, and events like ITB Berlin are a reminder of the importance of staying connected, curious, and open to what’s next.
